UVC Light Simulation for Room Disinfection System

چکیده

Viruses are minuscule parasites that have gained notoriety for causing diseases. However, these harmful pathogens can be inactivated using Ultraviolet-C (UVC) radiation has a wavelength between 200 – 280 nm. The wavelengths of the UVC responsible germicidal effect as proteins (e.g. RNA and DNA) absorb maximum in damage DNA viruses so they cannot replicate. This project aimed to simulate light intensity different room layouts guide evaluation effectiveness surface disinfection system which consists lights. Besides determining quantity installation layout lights, also help visualisation coverage highlight any under-exposed area optimum simulation software. DIALux Evo 9.1 was used lighting layouts. As software only calculates normal visible (wavelength 380 700 nm) unit Lux, correlation Lux dosage (mJ/cm2) must established first. A minimum 40 mJ/cm2 is required achieve complete microorganisms. able visualize determine placement lights ensure sufficient delivered every critical surface. outcome this design especially hospital wards setting optimise reducing risk infection.

Inactivation of Poxviruses by Upper-Room UVC Light in a Simulated Hospital Room Environment

In the event of a smallpox outbreak due to bioterrorism, delays in vaccination programs may lead to significant secondary transmission. In the early phases of such an outbreak, transmission of smallpox will take place especially in locations where infected persons may congregate, such as hospital emergency rooms. Air disinfection using upper-room 254 nm (UVC) light can lower the airborne concen...

Improved Drinking Water Disinfection with UVC-LEDs for Escherichia Coli and Bacillus Subtilis Utilizing Quartz Tubes as Light Guide

A new approach is investigated utilizing light guidance capabilities of optical pure quartz glass in order to maximize drinking water disinfection efficiency with UVC-light-emitting diodes (LEDs). Two experimental setups consisting of soda-lime AR® glass (VWR, Darmstadt, Germany) or HSQ® 100 quartz glass (Heraeus, Wasserburg, Germany) reactors were designed to compare disinfection rates with an...

UVC light prophylaxis for cutaneous wound infections in mice.

UVC light has long been known to be highly germicidal but has not been much developed as a therapy for infections. This study investigated the potential of UVC light for the prophylaxis of infections developing in highly contaminated superficial cutaneous wounds. In vitro studies demonstrated that the pathogenic bacteria Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureus were inactivated at UVC l...

Hydrogen peroxide room disinfection – ready for prime time?

Non-manual techniques for terminal disinfection of hospital rooms have gained increasing interest in recent years as means to reduce transmission of multidrug-resistant organisms (MDROs). A prospective crossover study by Blazejewski and colleagues in five ICUs of a French academic hospital with a high prevalence of MDRO carriers showed that two different hydrogen peroxide (H2O2)-based non-touch...
